With its clear blue waters, lush greenery, pleasant climatic conditions, golden beaches and skyscrapers, Miami-Dade is a subtropical paradise that attracts millions the world over. From its ethnic mix of people to its rich history, there’s so much one can uncover in the county. One noticeable fact remains the county’s occasional conflicts with nature which all boiled down to its terrain and geographical placement. Despite the wheels of progress churning out astounding developments in the region, the likes of Andrew, Wilma, Katrina, Irma and other tropical storms that Miami-Dade met along the way have time and again disrupted life in the region.

Impediments to progress:

Miami-Dade is today a paradigm of excellence; however, its tremendous growth spurt wasn’t without its share of impediments. From the Great Depression to the devastating Hurricane Andrew in 1992, there were several events in history that stalled its growth and crippled the economy. However, the county has always found a way to spring back, with each disaster leaving a lesson behind that has enabled it to evolve and adapt to its disaster-prone landscape. Hurricane Wilma: When Wilma lashed out at the county in 2005, it toppled trees, downed power lines, and flooded several residential areas. Most businesses had shut shop. However, our line – 786-373-1030 – remained open and we were well-prepared ahead of time to tackle the destruction. We extracted standing water from homes, removed debris, fixed the damage done, and assisted our clients in recovering insurance claims costs.
Brush fire: Dry conditions and high winds fueled a brush fire in May 2017 that spread to thousands of acres consuming everything and anything in its way. The event sent smoke spiraling up into the sky, causing nearby properties to be evacuated and roads to be shut down due to poor visibility. Even though it was contained, the resulting smoke dealt serious damage. Because of smoke’s nature to percolate into building materials, we had to carry out extensive cleanup efforts in our clients’ properties nearby to stem the damage to a minimum.
